Birthday Logic

For the longest time we are taught, most of the time not directly, that on our birthday we can do what WE want to do, and all of the decisions are ours. I started thinking about it, and there is some logic to that, in modern culture, but in reality it is just another day. It just happens to be the day you were born. We are in luck, though, that we do live in a culture in which most people celebrate birthdays, and I must say that I love it. Why not celebrate? Why not do what you want? It is a privilege to be alive that day, and the fact that you made it yet another year in this ruthless world should be celebrated.
