Ah yes, that glorious time in the student’s year right before Thanksgiving break when the seemingly frantic rushing of teachers to complete their lesson plans results in the overwhelming influx of information and tests which is crammed down our throats in a hope to teach us something, when all that is on our minds, honestly, is the break which is so painfully close. If you do sports, such as the skin-irritating,hair-drying, lip-cracking sport of competitive swimming, this adds to the pain and blends nicely into a cacophony of misery and bitterness. Luckily, in my case, I can resort to taking a reprieve at the end of each day at Stage Crew working with the musical, which has a dress rehearsal tomorrow; aka a perfectly good reason to get out of swimming. The only down side to all of this is that I don’t get home until 10 p.m. each day when we have Stage Crew, so homework and tests are done, not with much care, but quickly enough so that I can get at least 5 hours of sleep each night. Woo woo.
