Frontiers In Optics/Laser Science Presentation

Public transportation, Dr. Michio Kaku, seven Nobel Laureates, a light-up lanyard, and a cool badge. Oh, and rain. Lots of rain.

Had an amazing time at this event the other day celebrating the Optical Society of America’s 100th Anniversary in downtown Rochester. Got the pleasure of hearing an amazing presentation and getting exposed to what’s going on in the world of optics. I had to skip Philosophy *GASP* but it was 110% worth the trouble of dealing with the rain and going through the logistics of public transportation. It was a much needed break from the isolated world that is RIT’s campus.

Was lucky enough to get to hear Dr. Michio Kaku speak about his theories regarding where technology will be in 100 years, and another discussion with some Nobel Laureates regarding the same thing. It was an amazing experience, and even though I still have many, many years to go before I’m on the level that many of these people are, I think I’m off to a good start 🙂
